The SSEC bases weather related cancellations on the town of Weymouth.  If Weymouth schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, you may assume the SSEC is also closed.  We will contact you after the storm to reschedule.

Course Title:  CBT Training with Sarah Lunday

Start Date: Wednesday, December 11, 2024

Course Topics to include:
Background and Basics – Starting with the “C” Identifying Cognitive Distortions, Thought reframing Techniques, Core Beliefs/schemas, thought stopping, coping cards

Part “B”- Behavior component - What we can DO differently, Regulation strategies, Focusing on what is within their control, Goal setting, positive behavior plans, visualization, mantras,

CBT through play for children - use of sand, games, workbooks, toys, etc as teaching tools/aids

CBT through art for children - applying CBT through use of artistic outlets

CBT with teens - asking the right questions, Real life examples, downward arrow technique, direct communication

CBT and technology - considering impact of social media and use of CBT APPS

Course Title:  Ethics and Jurisprudence for Massachusetts School-Based OT & PT Practitioners
Date:  Virtual Interactive Training on Thursday, January 23, 2025 1-3pm

Course Description:  This interactive training is designed for school-based occupational therapy and physical therapy practitioners and meet the Massachusetts OT & PT Ethics and Jurisprudence licensure requirement.

Earn 2 continuing competency units toward your MA state OT or PT license renewal under 259 CMR 7.00: CONTINUING COMPETENCE 7.03: (2)(d).
